Consul-General in Kolkata delivered opening remarks at the “Thailand Food and Fruits Fiesta 2022”

On 20 May 2022, Ms. Acharapan Yavaprapas, Consul-General, delivered opening remarks at the Thailand Food and Fruits Fiesta Launch at Spencer's Hyper Store South City Mall, featuring the collaboration with Thai Trade Center in New Delhi and Spencer's during 20 May - 12 June 2022.

The objective of the event was to promote Thai products and Thai fruits in West Bengal. During the promotional event, the Spencer's shoppers will have a wide selection of Thai products such as vegetables, fruits, Thai ingredients, processed food, and beverages in seven branches across West Bengal.

At this event, Spencer's features Thai booths with various high-quality Thai products and fruits, singing and Thai music traditional performance together with a cooking demonstration of two Thai dishes - Thai dried fish curry custard (ห่อหมกปลา) and mango sticky rice (ข้าวเหนียวมะม่วง) by Consul-General's chef. This event was one of the activities to commemorate the 75^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and India,

During the opening ceremony, the event was publicized via Spencer's and Royal Thai Consulate-General, Kolkata Facebook LIVE which many people attended both on-site and online. The recipes shown in the cooking demonstration, used all ingredients that can be purchased from Spencer's.
