EL PASO, TEXAS - The El Paso County Sheriff's Office commemorates and acknowledges "National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week." Annually, the week of April 14^th though the 20^th is designated to honor the men and women who serve as public safety telecommunicators. These individuals, including telecommunicators and dispatchers, play a vital role in using telephones, radios, computers, and technical expertise to assist law enforcement and fire services in the City and County. The El Paso County Sheriff's Communications Section operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It offers radio communications and computer-aided dispatch services to field units. Additionally, it handles inquiries from law enforcement officers regarding wanted and missing individuals and verifies stolen property. In addition to servicing Sheriff's units, Communications also offers services to other law enforcement agencies, fire departments within the County, and the Medical Examiner's Office. Its responsibilities are essential to ensuring the safety and well-being of residents across the County. We sincerely thank the dispatchers for their tireless efforts and dedication.
