Detectives Arrest Aurora Robbery Suspect, Seize Stolen Gun

Thanks to a multi-agency effort, police arrested two felons and recovered two firearms in SeaTac Thursday afternoon. One man is a suspect in multiple robberies in North Seattle and the other is a suspect in a shooting outside Seattle.

The men are suspects in two North Seattle robberies, four days apart. In the first robbery, the victim was driving in his car near North 100th Street and Aurora Avenue North around 2 AM on March 19th when two suspects stopped him and robbed him at gunpoint. The suspects then fled in a silver coupe. At approximately 3:20 a.m. on March 22nd, a woman reported a man had robbed her at gun point in the 9100 block of Aurora Avenue North and then fled in a silver coupe. Through their investigation, Robbery Detectives determined the same car was used in both crimes and began tracking down the suspects.

Through a collaboration with detectives from the Gun Violence Reduction Unit and help from the King County Sherriff's Office, the Department of Corrections and the US Marshals Service, detectives located the two men at an address in SeaTac.

SPD Officers from SWAT and the Community Response Group arrested the suspects yesterday at approximately 3:00 p.m. Despite the suspects' efforts to hide their weapons at a neighbor's house, police seized a semi-automatic pistol and a revolver at the scene. The pistol had been reported stolen.

Officers booked a 24-year-old man into the King County Jail for robbery and unlawful possession of a firearm. A 23-year-old suspect was also booked into the KCJ for unlawful possession of a firearm, in addition to assault in the first degree, related to a shooting outside Seattle that happened just two hours after the March 19th robbery.
