Prime Minister Viorica Dăncilă had today, October 25, 2018, a meeting with the OECD Deputy Secretary-General Ludger Schuknecht and the Director-General at OECD Nuclear Energy Agency William Magwood.
This visit took place in the context of the Regional Ministerial Conference on Nuclear Energy, Technology and Radioactive Waste Management which is held in Bucharest, organized by the Romanian Government through the Nuclear Agency and for Radioactive Waste, in cooperation with the Agency for Nuclear Energy, during October 25-26, 2018.
During the meeting, the Romanian Prime Minister presented the advanced dialogue and cooperation position of Romania with OECD, its active participation to the working formats of the organization and the substantial contribution, underlining that joining the OECD currently represents a strategic objective of Romania.
The two OECD officials emphasized the importance of having Romania as partner, among the members of the Agency for Nuclear Energy, adding that the concrete plan for cooperation with Romania in the field of energy policy is to be achieved, in the context of regional collaboration in the field.
Romania joined the Agency for Nuclear Energy on June 8, 2017.
