SOC: Yellow Jackets fall to Regis after a Snowy first attempt

RAPID CITY, S.D. - The Black Hills State University women's soccer team fell to Regis University, 5-1, on Monday afternoon. Originally scheduled for October 20th, the Jackets and Rangers were snowed out when the South Dakota weather made it look like Christmas in October. The game was ruled a no-contest after half-time due to safety concerns and the lines being covered up faster than they could be cleared. The decision was reached Monday morning (October, 21st) to play the game at Sioux Park in Rapid City, S.D.

The Rangers (8-3-2, 6-2-1 RMAC) drew first blood with Madison Hand scoring the first of three Ranger goals in the first period. Black Hills State (3-9-1, 3-5-1 RMAC) answered back in the 12th minute of play tying the score at 1-1. This score would be the only goal by the Yellow Jackets.

Regis then scored two more in the first period, one being a penalty kick by Emily Ramos. The Yellow Jackets Goal Keepers and had a combined six saves in the net. Jara, guarding the net for the first half and Hartley taking over for the second half.

The Jackets came away with three shots on goal, one resulting in a goal by . Regis had eleven shots on goal.

The Green and Gold will next be in action on October 25 when they host Colorado Mines. The match is scheduled to kick off at 3:30 p.m.
