A detachment of Pacific Fleet warships arrives in the Philippines

Today, a detachment of Pacific Fleet warships, consisting of major ASW ships Admiral Vinogradov and Admiral Tributz, medium sea tanker Irkut, arrived with an informal visit to Manila, the capital of the Republic of the Philippines.

From Сorregidor island on their way to the harbor, the Russian warships were escorted by the guard ship of the Philippines Navy.

A solemn ceremony of meeting the detachment of Russian warships was held in the Manila port.

It is planned that Captain 1st Rank Sergey Alentyev, commander of the detachment, and warship captains pay a courtesy visit to the Commander Philippine Navy.

The visit of Pacific Fleet detachment of warships to Manila is to finish on April 13.

The detachment of Pacific Fleet warships set off on a long-range trip from Vladivostok on April 1. During the voyage, the ships will visit the ports of several countries in the Asia-Pacific region and take part in the Russian-Chinese bilateral naval Maritime Interaction 2019 (Joint Sea 2019) exercise.
