Congressman Cohen Announces $1.4 Million Grant to Tri-State Community Health Center

MEMPHIS - Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today announced that Tri-State Community Health Center will receive a grant of $1,416,200 for its ongoing work with the underserved from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Congressman Cohen made the following statement:

"Tri-State Community Health Center meets a critical need, as they serve many people who do not have access to affordable health insurance because Tennessee has not expanded its Medicaid program, TennCare. The state's failure to do so continues to endanger this population, requires financially strained hospitals to provide high levels of uncompensated care and prevents Tennesseans from full participation in a federal program they are already paying for with their tax dollars. I commend Tri-State Community Health Center for its work and am pleased that it was awarded these funds to support its services."
