McCrorey cracks top 10 as Knights place 11th

PATASKALA, Ohio--Bellarmine freshman is off to a solid start in her colleigiate golf career. After placing 12th in her first tournament, she followed that up with a tie for 10th at the Cumberland Trail Golf Classic hosted by Ohio Dominican University on Saturday and Sunday.

The freshman from Bardstown, Kentucky fired rounds of 76 and 77 (+9) to lead Bellarmine, which finished 11th in the 16-team field.

Tiffin University claimed the team title after opening with a 292 and closing with a 310 to hold off second place Ferris State by two shots. Malone's Christina Williams was medalist after a final round 68 put her at five-under par (139) for the tournament.

carded back-to-back 81s and was second on the Bellarmine team and tied for 43rd overall in the field of 92 players.

Bellarmine's remaining players were closely bunched with , and finishing within three strokes of each other.

The Knights return to action on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1, playing close to home at the Georgetown Invitational at Cherry Blossom Golf Course in Georgetown, Kentucky.
