President Arayik Harutyunyan convened an enlarged consultation

On January 26 Artakh Republic President Arayik Harutyunyan convened an enlarged consultation on the programs and works being implemented in the urban development sphere.
Mayor of Stepanakert and Minister of Urban Development Aram Sargsyan delivered corresponding reports on the works carried out in 2021 and planned for 2022.
Taking into consideration the unprecedented volumes of construction activities being carried out in the post-war period and the imperative of their rapid and quality implementation, the Head of the State expressed overall satisfaction with the work of those responsible of the sphere. At the same time, the President stressed that in terms of such volumes of construction activities and respectively large sums spent, abuses and corruption phenomena are inadmissable more than ever, reminding those present that he has already instructed law enforcement agencies to carry out stricter inspections in a number of structures and institutions.
Speaking of the mechanisms of increasing the level of transparency and reducing the corruption risks, Arayik Harutyunyan stated that henceforth the companies affiliated with the employees of the Artsakh Republic Ministry of Urban Development will not be allowed to participate in the construction works commissioned by the state structure. At the same time, the Head of State instructed those responsible for the sector to tighten the procedure for tenders organized for construction works, based on the principles of transparency, proportionality and fairness.
