Overnight Closures on Pacific Coast Highway (State Route 1)

for Median Replacement Project

At least one lane will remain open in both directions at all times

MALIBU - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) announced plans to close lanes on a mile segment of State Route 1/Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) in Malibu next week.

From Monday, November 5 to Friday, November 9 between 9 p.m. - 6 a.m., the following closures will be in place:

  • One northbound AND southbound lane of PCH between Puerco Canyon Road to Corral Canyon Road.

There will be no closures on the evening of Wednesday, October 31.

At least one lane in each direction will be open at all times. The closures are weather permitting and subject to change.

The work on PCH is part of a project to reconstruct the existing raised median island between Puerco Canyon Road to Corral Canyon Road to meet current standards. It also seeks to improve traffic safety along PCH by reducing the amount of improper turns.

C. A. Rasmussen, Inc., of Valencia is the contractor. The project is anticipated to be completed in winter 2018/2019.

Caltrans reminds drivers to be "Work Zone Alert" and to "Slow for the Cone Zone."
