RUC Overseas Students Inspired by Xi's Speech

On April 25, Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee visited Renmin University of China and delivered a speech to students. RUC students studying abroad expressed their excitement after watching the news, saying that they would remember Xi's expectation for the youth, and work hard for the better development of China.

Some of them expressed their wishes to apply their knowledge into the study of China after graduation. "I will not only study the teaching and research concepts of universities in other countries, but also do my own research about China when I return home," said Wang Wenlan, a PhD student in the School of Finance.

Xiang Chenxi, a Doctoral student of the School of Applied Economics, also stressed the importance of linking theory with practice, saying that she always tried to understand the trends of the times from her professional knowledge. "I'm going to carry out researches on carbon neutrality and carbon peak. By focusing on the important global issues today, I'd like to make my unique contribution to the human community with a shared future," said she.

According to Ma Yinpo, a doctoral student from the School of Labor & Human Resources, Chinese young people should boost their confidence. "As long as we constantly strengthen our confidence and hold on to our dreams," he said, "we will be able to draw upon the world's advanced experience and explore our own way of development with Chinese characteristics."

Xie Longqian, an undergraduate student of the School of Philosophy, deemed that it is the responsibility of the young people to let the world know better about China. "By communicating with countries around the world, we can present the great achievements of contemporary China and introduce China's experience to the world," he said.
