Update to SFMTA Paratransit Taxi Debit Card Programs
To: San Francisco Taxi Industry
In response to COVID-19, the SFMTA implemented the Essential Trip Card (ETC) Program. Essential Trip Cards are an acceptable form of payment for taxi rides. Drivers should handle these cards, and process the sale, in the same manner as any SF Paratransit taxi debit card. While the card may appear expired based on the expiration date printed on the front, Essential Trip Cards will remain valid until the program is ended by the SFMTA.Essential Trip Cards
are not expired - program extended VALID FOR FARE PAYMENT UNTIL 12/31/2022*
*Unless ended earlier by the SFMTA - YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED IN ADVANCE
