Notice of Temporary Water Service Interruption: SW 33 Street in Edgewood

The City of Fort Lauderdale will be performing a test of the water distribution system in preparation for planned maintenance work in your area. The test may result in low water pressure or temporary service interruptions to your property on Monday, August 15, 2022, at 11 p.m. through Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at 5 a.m.

This test will allow us to determine the best course of action to take when we conduct the planned system maintenance. A separate notice will be issued if you are impacted by the upcoming planned maintenance.

Properties bounded by the following boundaries may experience temporary loss of water for approximately one (1) hour during the time crews work to complete their investigation. Multistory buildings that use booster pumps and cooling towers should make arrangements to allow normal or minimum operation and have maintenance personnel onsite until service is restored.

The impacted properties will be within the following general boundaries:

  • North: SW 32 Street
  • South: SW 33 Court
  • East: SW 2 Avenue
  • West: SW 4 Avenue

If you experience discolored water, you may wish to run water from one or more cold water faucets for a couple of minutes until the water is clear again and you may wish to do so prior to cooking, bathing, or washing laundry.

The discolored water is nonhazardous but can stain clothing. If your water does not clear within 24 hours, or have any questions, please contact the City's 24-Hour Neighbor Call Center at 954-828-8000.

Residents will have full access to their properties, while we perform this very important work.
