CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (April 24, 2024) - The Barrier Island Fire Service Municipal Service Benefit Unit Advisory Board is seeking a volunteer to fill a vacant position with term ending on Oct. 31, 2025. Applicants must be residents of Charlotte County and reside within the Unit. The Historical Advisory Committee is looking for volunteers to fill one member at large position and one organization based position. Organization must be within Charlotte County and organization must submit a letter of recommendation for the applicant. Terms are effective immediately and will expire in May 2027. The Marine Advisory Committee is seeking two volunteers to fill two unexpired positions. A member at large position effective immediately and expires on Dec.12, 2025, and a Harbor Heights Yacht Club position effective immediately and expires in December 2026. The MPO - Bicycle/Pedestrian Advisory Committee is seeking two South County representatives. These individuals must be residents of Charlotte County to serve on the BPAC. The BPAC reviews and makes recommendations on transportation plans and projects that the MPO board will consider.
The MPO - Citizens' Advisory Committee is seeking three Charlotte County residents to serve as South County representatives (applicant must live in Charlotte County). The CAC reviews and makes recommendations on transportation plans and projects that the MPO board will consider.
The Charlotte County Transportation Disadvantaged Local Coordinating Board is seeking one volunteer representing the one experienced representative of the local private for-profit transportation industry. The purpose of the LCB is to identify local service needs and to provide information, advice, and direction to the Community Transportation Coordination of service to be provided to the transportation disadvantaged.
The deadline for submitting an application is Friday, July 5, 2024.
