ScotRail adds more seats for Biffy Clyro at Glasgow Green

ScotRail is adding more seats for music fans attending the Biffy Clyro concert this week.

Glasgow Green will play host to the popular Scottish rock band on Thursday, 9 September, and the train operator is adding extra carriages to services to and from Glasgow where possible to help the gig run smoothly.

Customers are advised to plan their journey in advance and to allow extra time for travel as trains to and from Glasgow will very busy.

Glasgow Green can be accessed from five stations, all within a 20-minute walk - Glasgow Central Station, Queen Street Station, High Street Station, Argyle Street Station, and Bridgeton Station.

Fans should be aware that the last trains on many routes will depart before, or very shortly after, the event ends. Customers are urged to double-check the times of their last trains and make alternative arrangements to get home if they plan on staying later.

As with most special events, ScotRail will have extra staff at stations to assist, and customers are reminded that the wearing of a face covering remains mandatory on ScotRail trains and in station, and the consumption of alcohol is prohibited on ScotRail services.

Phil Campbell, ScotRail Head of Customer Operations, said:

'We're really looking forward to helping music lovers travel to see Biffy Clyro this Thursday.

'To help the concert run smoothly, we're providing extra seats to and from the Strathclyde area, but trains are expected to be busy.

'Make sure to check your train times on our website or app, and leave plenty of time for travel as the last trains of the evening will depart before, or very shortly after, the event finishes. Buying your train tickets in advance will also help reduce your queuing time.'
