MINISTER DONOHOE TO WELCOME US TREASURY SECRETARY JANET YELLEN TO IRELAND

The Minister for Finance, and President of Eurogroup, Paschal Donohoe TD, looks forward to welcoming US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen to Dublin from 31 October - 01 November, her first visit to Ireland since she was appointed by the President of the United States, Joe Biden, to his Administration in January of this year.

Speaking in advance of the visit Minister Donohoe said:

"I am delighted that US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen has accepted my invitation to visit to Ireland. I have already met with Secretary Yellen twice this year, in June at the G7 in London and in Brussels in July when she attended a meeting of the Eurogroup. Her visit to Ireland underlines the importance of Ireland-U.S. relations in the spirit of the renewal of international economic diplomacy, including the historic agreement reached on international taxation within the OECD Inclusive Framework. Ireland and the US have long been steadfast partners and friends, and I look forward to demonstrating the strength of our relationship further during next week's visit."
