Brown Speaks at Investiture Ceremony for Kenneth Parker, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Ohio

CINCINNATI, OH - Today, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) spoke at the investiture ceremony for Kenneth L. Parker, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Ohio.

"Ken is a lifelong public servant who dedicated his entire legal career to Southern Ohio. He embodies the values of the U.S. Attorney's office of the Southern District, which is why the choice to nominate him was so clear," said Brown. "He is focused on the work before him, but never loses sight of the larger goal to deliver equal justice for all under the law."

Parker is a lifelong resident of the Cincinnati area and a 22-year veteran of the U.S. Attorney's office of the Southern District of Ohio. President Biden nominated Parker to serve on the bench in the Southern District of Ohio after Senators Brown and Rob Portman (R-OH) recommended him through a bipartisan judicial commission. He was confirmed by the full senate in November 2021. Brown highlighted in his comments that U.S. Attorneys need investigators, law enforcement personnel, support staff and line attorneys to succeed in their mission of serving the American people, delivering equal justice and recognizing no one is above the law.

"I'm honored to be leading the U.S. Attorney's Office as it pursues justice in every matter at the highest level of excellence," said U.S. Attorney Kenneth L. Parker. "We remain vigilant in our commitment to protecting the American people, serving victims and connecting with the community."

Parker took over for Vipal Patel who served as acting U.S. Attorney following David DeVillers resignation in March 2021.
