License suspended for Marinette motor vehicle dealer

Release date: July 19, 2022

The state of Wisconsin suspended the motor vehicle dealer license for Sorenson Motors, located at 3456 Hall Ave, Marinette, for failing to properly follow administrative requirements. The suspension is for five days beginning Monday, July 18, 2022.

The Wisconsin Department of Administration's Division of Hearings and Appeals issued the order following an investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation Division of Motor Vehicles Dealer and Agent Section. The order determined Sorenson Motors violated state law when they failed to make records available to the department, failed to maintain business hours, conducted sales on a Sunday, and employed an unlicensed salesperson, in violation of Wisconsin Statutes §218.0116(1)(a), §218.0116(1)(gm), §218.0116(1)(k), and §218.0116(1)(nm).

WisDOT's Dealer and Agent Section licenses, regulates and resolves disputes about dealership sales and warranty repairs. It also investigates complaints about odometer tampering and title fraud involving dealerships and private sellers.
