Cooper St. railroad crossing to close for construction

Beginning Friday, July 8, at about 9 a.m., the railroad crossing at Cooper St. and Southern Ave. will be closed to through traffic to allow the contractor to perform work on the railroad. This closure will be in effect until around 4 p.m.

Motorists who normally use the railroad crossing at Cooper St. are advised to find an alternate route.

The signed detour route will make use of Southern Avenue, Kyle Street, Netherwood Avenue, Lapaloma Street, Lamar Avenue, Carnes Avenue, East Parkway South, South Parkway East, Young Avenue, and Cooper Street.
