MERIDIAN YOUTH INVITED TO APPLY FOR CITY COMMISSIONS
MERIDIAN - The City of Meridian is seeking youth who are interested in serving on a variety of City Commissions and Boards and want to make an impact in their community. Selected applicants will be appointed to one year terms and will attend the regularly scheduled meetings of their assigned commission and other meetings or activities as appropriate.

Applicants must reside in the City of Meridian or the area of impact and be in grades 9-12 throughout their appointment. Youth serving on commissions provide a unique perspective on the topics at hand and serve as a liaison between their Commission and the Mayor's Youth Advisory Council (MYAC). Applicants may be asked to give reports to MYAC to provide informational updates and receive feedback from the members of MYAC.

Applications are currently being accepted for the following Commissions: Meridian Arts, Parks and Recreation, Historical Preservation, Solid Waste Advisory and Transportation. This is a great opportunity for Meridian youth to have their voices heard and learn more about their local government.

Interested applicants can access the application HERE. Please complete the application and email or deliver to the Mayor's Office ([email protected]), Monday - Friday, 8AM-5PM. The deadline to apply is August 19, 2022 by 5:00PM.
