New Business License Application Now Online

To streamline its customer service for small businesses, the City of Santa Maria now offers a redesigned, online Business License Application. Use the following link https://businesslicenses.cityofsantamaria.org/blwebapplication/ any time of day, any day of the week.

By applying online, businesses will be able to view the status of their application and will save time on driving to multiple City Departments for transactions.

Please allow up to two weeks to receive a new business license certificate. A business license is valid for one year.

The digital business license application will be reviewed, and initial fees collected by Community Development Department staff. As usual, depending on the business location and type of business, the Fire Department may also review the application and determine if a fire inspection is needed. The final step of the process is review by the Finance Department to review and collect tax and remaining fees.
