Industrial action restarts on Hull Trains

RAIL UNION RMT confirmed today industrial action on Hull Trains will start again from Monday, with a wave of strike action kicking off on Sunday 8th August, in a fight to defend decent pension rights and to force the company to honour their long-standing obligations to staff.

Despite talks at the conciliation service ACAS and RMT representatives attempts to resolve the pensions dispute amicably with Hull Trains management these discussions have now broken down without progress.

As a result action is back on with members instructed not to book on for any shifts that commence between:-
• 0001 Hours and 2359 Hours on Sunday 8th August 2021
• 0001 Hours and 2359 Hours on Sunday 15th August 2021
• 0001 Hours and 2359 Hours on Sunday 22nd August 2021
• 0001 Hours and 2359 Hours on Sunday 29th August 2021

Additionally, the continuous rest day working and overtime ban will restart from 00.01 hours on Monday 2nd August 2021 and will continue until further notice.

General Secretary Mick Lynch said:
'RMT remains fully committed to defending our members rights to a decent pension in retirement and will do everything in its power to protect our members final salary pension rights.

'This is a well-funded scheme with a healthy valuation report and there is absolutely no need for the company to take this drastic step of closing it down.

'RMT remains available for talks but the action from Monday onwards is back on.'
