Close coordination between a Tennessee Highway Patrol helicopter and MNPD TITANS (The Investigative Team Addressing Neighborhood Shootings) detectives led to the this afternoon's arrest of a man who fled from state troopers in Henderson County behind the wheel of a 2016 Ranger Rover that was stolen in a Nashville carjacking on April 15.

The THP helicopter monitored the Range Rover as it traveled from West Tennessee into Nashville and provided its location to the TITANS team. When the SUV parked near the intersection of Kirkpatrick and Sylvan Streets, detectives moved in and arrested the driver, Omari Moore, 26, of Madison. Moore was carrying a small backpack that contained a Glock .40 caliber pistol. The gun was stolen during a vehicle burglary in the 2300 block of Murfreesboro Pike on June 27.

The Range Rover was taken on the evening of April 15 after its owner was confronted by a gunman just after arriving at his Youngs Lane home.

At the time of his arrest today, Moore was free on bond in regard to his 2019 arrest in Nashville on multiple burglary, theft, fraudulent use of a credit card, and unlawful gun possession charges.

Moore refused to be interviewed by detectives investigating the April carjacking. He is being returned to West Tennessee to be charged by the THP tonight on charges of felony evading arrest, auto theft, felony reckless endangerment and multiple traffic offenses.
