“Vazgen Sargsyan Has Created Proud Pages of History of Armenia,” NA Vice President Hakob Arshakyan

Today, the National Hero of Armenia, the Hero of Artsakh, the state and military figure Vazgen Sargsyan will become 63 years old.

On March 5, the NA Vice President, the NA Acting President Hakob Arshakyan, the Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security Andranik Kocharyan, the deputies, the representatives of the Government, the Chairman of the Yerkrapah/Land Defender Volunteer Union (YVU) Sasun Mikayelyan, the YVU members, the high rankling military, the clergymen, the close relatives and the military friends visited Yerablur Military Pantheon.

According to tradition, the event dedicated to the Armenian commander's birthday began with the young yerkrapah members' solemn oath taking ceremony. After the prayer and blessing words of the spiritual leader of the RA Armed Forces Ter-Movses Archimandrite Sargsyan, in their speeches the attendees evaluated the victorious path passed by the Sparapet/Commander, told their memories about him.

According to the NA Vice President Hakob Arshakyan, we can speak a lot about the Commander Vazgen Sargsyan's braveries and heroic deeds: "But the most important and main line that I have noticed in his activities, of course, is his great leadership. A leadership that was enclosing his endless love towards every piece of land, tree and stone, the most important - to people. He loved every soldier, akin, the close relatives and friends, taking care of them. And without that love it is impossible to have high leadership and serve an example for his soldier. First of all, the leader stands not in the back of his soldiers, but in the first rows. With his experience, military and political path he has shown the real leader's complete character, about which we can read in the world literature. Vazgen Sargsyan has created proud pages of the history of Armenia," he said.

Welcoming the young yerkrapah members, Hakob Arshakyan wished them strength, energy, capacity and wisdom.

After the young yerkrapah members' solemn march, the attendees paid tribute to the commander Vazgen Sargsyan, as well as the Armenian sons, who had sacrificed their lives for the defense of the Motherland and laid flowers to their tombs.
