SAN ANTONIO (January 17, 2022) - The City of San Antonio through the support of the Texas Division of Emergency Management will now open its federal COVID-19 drive through testing site at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 18 at the Alamodome in Lot C at Cherry Street and Montana. We previously shared that the testing site would open at 7 a.m. January 18.
The federal drive through testing site will be open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning Wednesday, January 19 until February 4. The site will close on January 22, 28, 29 and 30 for previously scheduled events at the Alamodome.
Appointments are required. To register for an appointment, visit:
https://www.doineedacovid19test.com/SanAntonio_TX_14602.html or call 1-800-635-8611.
The testing site will use a shallow nasal PCR test. Results are anticipated to be returned within 48 hours. Results for tests done on Sunday will be provided within 72 hours. The current testing capacity at the Alamodome is 1,200 tests per day with the option to expand as needed.
Because of the highly contagious Omicron variant, Metro Heath encourages individuals to get vaccinated as soon as possible, and, if you are eligible, get a booster for extra protection. Also, if you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, please get tested; and if you are sick, stay home.
To find a COVID-19 vaccine pop-up clinic or testing location, visit covid19.sanantonio.gov or call 311 and select option 8.
