The Foreign Ministry continues with four MA scholarships in Asian and Middle Eastern studies at the University of Tartu

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to cover the tuition fees of four students in the contemporary Asian and Middle Eastern studies programme at the University of Tartu in 2022.

Two recipients of the scholarship will graduate this spring. In the autumn, two winners of the scholarship who began their studies in the 2021/2022 academic year will continue to be covered by the scholarship and we will offer two-year scholarships to two Estonian students who embark on their MA programme this year.

"The economic and geopolitical influence of Asia and the Middle East is growing considerably across the world, which is why the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has a growing demand for experts on Asia and the Middle East who would be able to understand and analyse what is happening in these regions," Foreign Ministry's Secretary General Jonatan Vseviov said. "The master's programme of the University of Tartu is a good breeding ground for this," he added.

Applications for the scholarship are welcome until 15 March. More information is available at the University of Tartu: https://ut.ee/en/curriculum/contemporary-asian-and-middle-eastern-studies. The study language of the programme is English.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has a framework agreement with the University of Tartu since 2019. It includes various study and research activities, including continuing education, consultations and traineeships at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
