Havila Kystruten AS: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has rejected an application for exemption in order to insure Havila Capella
Reference is made to a stock exchange release on 26 April 2022 in which the
company reported that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had granted the company an
exemption from the "Sanctions" to operate Havila Capella for 6 months.
The exemption did not entail insurances for the ship, and the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs has today rejected the company's application to take out
insurances on the grounds that being able to take out insurances for the ship,
in itself would entail assets to be made available to a sanctioned registered
owner.
The refusal means a continuing unresolved situation for Havila Capella. On this
basis, the company has been forced to cancel the upcoming round trip along the
coast that should have started in Bergen on 15.05.22.
The company deeply regrets the situation that has arisen, and the consequences
for tourists and other passengers, employees, the coastal population and the
company's suppliers.
Havila Kystruten continue its efforts to find a possible way out of a
particularly demanding situation, and will return with new information as soon
as the company has clarified the room for manoeuvre the company is facing.
