Honda Announces Team HRC Riders for 2022 FIM Superbike World Championship Series

October 26, 2021 - Honda announced that Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) has reached an agreement with Iker Lecuona (Spain / 21 years old) and Xavi Vierge (Spain / 24 years old) to race for its factory team*1 Team HRC in the FIM*2 Superbike World Championship (SBK) series beginning in the 2022 season.

Iker Lecuona currently races in the FIM MotoGP World Championship MotoGP class, ranked 18th*3. He made his debut in the Moto2 class at the British Grand Prix (Round 12) in 2016. In the final round in Valencia 2019, he joined the MotoGP class, in which he has been racing since.

Xavi Vierge currently races in the FIM MotoGP World Championship Moto2 class, ranked 11th*3. Since his world championship racing debut in the Moto2 class of the 2015 Indianapolis round, he has competed in the class for seven seasons.
