Untouchable: Mickschl Again Named NSIC Pitcher of the Week

BURNSVILLE, Minn. -- Augustana softball's continues to set a new standard. During two games in Colorado, the junior finished with two complete-game shutout wins, racking up 19 strikeouts and not allowing an earned run in 18 innings. For her efforts in the circle, Mickschl has earned the NSIC Pitcher of the Week honors for the second time this season.

The two-time All-America honoree was untouchable this past weekend, first shutting down MSU Denver in a 2-0, 11-inning complete-game effort. Mickschl racked up a career-high 152 pitches in the win, finishing with nine strikeouts and five hits allowed.

Ashley ended the road trip with a seven-inning, 10 strikeout, zero walk shutout performance over Colorado School of Mines.

Overall, opponents managed just 11 hits against the righty, hitting a combined .171 over the two games. The Vikings finished their Colorado road trip with a 4-0 record. The righty improved to 5-0 this season with four complete-game and three shutouts.

Mickschl earns the NSIC weekly honor for the second time in three weeks, and the third time in her career. The junior was also recently named to Schutt Sports/NFCA DII Pitcher of the Year Watch List

Next up, Mickschl and the Vikings head to the 2020 Spring Games in Clermont, Florida. Augustana is scheduled to play 10 games over five days in the Orlando suburb.
