ERIE COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH STATEMENT ON DEATH OF BOARD OF HEALTH MEMBER DR. DANIELS

ERIE COUNTY - The Erie County Department of Health extends its deepest condolences to the Daniels family following the deaths of Dr. Jonathan Daniels and his daughters, Jordan and Jensen, in a tragic house fire.

Dr. Daniels was an experienced pediatrician and committed community volunteer who was reappointed to a second six-year term on the Erie County Board of Health in 2020. "Dr. Daniels was a tremendously talented and empathetic physician, and a steadfast advocate for improving population health," said Commissioner of Health Dr. Gale Burstein. "His death leaves a profound void in the local pediatric and medical community, and I will sincerely miss his insight and feedback."

"On behalf of our entire department and members of the board of health, our thoughts are with his wife, Janessa, in her recovery and to his entire family in this time of overwhelming grief," Dr. Burstein shared.
