Applus+ Participated in the 23rd Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC)

This was the first time that Applus+ exhibited in the event. Andrew Cunningham, country manager of Applus+ in the UAE commented, "Our participation in ADIPEC 2021 can be viewed as a massive success. As first-time exhibitors, we were not sure what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised by the number of visitors to our exhibition stand and the interest that was shown in our technologies."

Despite the ongoing travel restrictions, ADIPEC 2021 welcomed over 2000 exhibitors and more than 100,000 visitors from around the world. The event gave energy companies, service providers and suppliers an opportunity to showcase their technologies and services to a wider audience. ADIPEC 2021 took place in the week after COP26, the UN Conference on Climate Change and inspired conversations among energy leaders about the global energy transition.

Niels Pörtzgen, Technical Authority and Inventor of the Applus+ RTD IWEX presented a paper in the ADIPEC Technical Conference titled, "Extending FMC-Based Ultrasonic Imaging Practices to Smaller Wall Thickness", which was well received by all attendees.

Applus+ showcased the following technologies on its exhibition stand in Hall 6, Stand no. 6270:

• Applus+ RTD IWEX - An ultrasonic imaging method based on full matrix capture data acquisition to image crack-like features in welds and pipe bodies such as seam weld anomalies, girth weld anomalies, and pipe body cracking such as SCC.

• Applus+RTD DTI Trekscan - The first free-floating pipeline in-line inspection tool designed to traverse back-to-back one-dimensional (1D) bends, with an optimum speed of one-meter-per-second (2.2 mph). It can run in pipelines previously considered to be 'unpiggable'.

Applus+ HEX System - An alternative access solution in lieu of scaffolding for the internal inspection and maintenance of spherical storage tanks.

Applus+ technical experts from The Netherlands, UK, and Middle East were available to answer questions, hold technical discussions and demonstrate the technologies to clients.

Guillermo Andres, Executive Vice President of Operations for Applus+ in the Middle East & Africa commented, "ADIPEC 2021 provided an opportunity for Applus+ to begin technical conversations with clients and demonstrate our advanced technologies and service offerings. As a global leader and a trusted partner in the Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) sector, we want to continue the conversation with our clients as we aim to meet and exceed their expectations."

Applus+ is proud to announce it's participation in the 24th Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference, which is scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi between 7-10 November 2022.
