Council workshop

The City Council met in a special called workshop at 2 p.m.

  • Informal reports: Budget and tax notice requirements; submission of 2022 no-new-revenue and voter-approval tax rates; submission of 2022 certified appraisal roll and certified collection rate.
  • Budget presentation: Fort Worth's homeowners could see the City's property tax rate drop 2 cents if the City Council approves a new rate as part of the fiscal 2023 budget process. City Manager David Cooke proposed the decrease when he put before councilmembers a $915.3 million General Fund budget. The City's overall budget will top $2.3 billion. Water rates, garbage collection fees and stormwater fees are not going up.
  • Communications & Public Engagement presentation; Reyne Telles presented an overview of plans to educate and engage the public in the budget process. Fort Worth residents have many opportunities to speak on the proposed fiscal 2023 budget. A series of community engagement meetings will be held at geographically dispersed locations across Fort Worth. View a list of meetings.
