PennDOT's Fayette County Maintenance Update -- Week of May 6, 2024

Uniontown, PA - Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Fayette County Maintenance Manager Jason L. Spangler has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of May 6, 2024. All maintenance activities are conducted depending on weather and operations.

Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive with caution through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the use of headlights. Safety is everyone's responsibility.

Bridge flushing:

• Various routes in Franklin, Jefferson, Perry, and Washington townships.

Bridge replacement:

• Route 1019 (Breakiron Road) in Bullskin Township.
• • ​Closure and detour in place.

Brushing:

• Route 3013 (Palmer Adah Road) in German Township.

Seal coat:

• Route 1009 (Bear Rocks Road) in Bullskin Township.
• Route 1044 (Ore Mine Hill Road) in Bullskin Township.
• Route 1050 (Quail Hill Road) in Bullskin Township.
• Route 1051 (Breakneck Road) in Bullskin Township.

Shoulder cutting:

• Route 3002 (Gans Road) in Springhill Township.
• Route 3003 (Tom Cat Hollow Road) in Springhill Township.

Shoulder repair:

• Route 1055 (Dunbar/Ohiopyle Road) in Ohiopyle/Stewart townships.

Sign replacement:

• Various routes countywide.

Litter crews will be picking litter on various routes throughout the county as weather and other activities permit.

Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced, and work orders will be addressed on various state routes throughout the County.

PennDOT has a toll-free number for residents to call to report any road maintenance concern. This number can also be utilized to report locations of dead deer on state highways. The number is 1-800-FIX ROAD (1-800-349-7623).

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
