Modesto Drive Up + Drop Off: Household Waste Collection Event

The City of Modesto has been awarded grant funds from a new initiative Clean California, which aims to remove litter, create jobs and beautify California.

Caltrans, which administers the funds, will be supporting this effort by partnering with us to provide a FREE household waste collection event (Modesto: Drive Up + Drop Off) on Saturday, June 25, 2022.

The City of Modesto continues to strive toward the idea of creating an inviting and safe community with thriving neighborhoods. We continue to implement our action plan towards developing and implementing a strategy to resolve illegal dumping and related nuisance abatement services.

We are committed to our Quality of LifeGoals and Strategies by providing safe, efficient, and reliable infrastructure though proactive community investment, maintenance and sustainability efforts.

We invite you to dispose of those bulky items - including mattresses, furniture, appliances, televisions, computers, and other electronic waste - easily and at no cost!

June 25, 2022 from 8:00 am-12:00 pm located at John Thurman Field, 601 Neece Drive in Modesto.

Delivery Guidance:
Caltrans reminds motorists to properly secure and tarp all cargo loads prior to driving. Transporting unsecured loads is unsafe, illegal, and pollutes California's roads and waterways. Loads that are not tied down/secured by tarps/nets or enclosed will not be accepted.

Tips for securing your load:

  • Completely cover loads with tarps or cargo nets. Debris can escape from gaps
  • Remove loose material and trash before driving
  • Don't overload; keep materials level with your truck bed
  • Put light items lower, tie large items to the vehicle for traffic safety

Drop Off Entrance:
Enter from Neece Drive and follow signs to the west parking lot.
