WHO Director-General's opening remarks at dinner with the President of Viet Nam - 28 November 2021

Your Excellency, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc,

Your Excellency, Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh,

Honourable Ministers, Excellencies, dear colleagues and friends,

I would like to offer my sincere gratitude, Your Excellency, to you, to the honourable Ministers, and to the government of Viet Nam for making the journey here and for the very productive discussion today.

Vaccine equity is the issue of our time, and WHO is pleased to be able to work with and support Viet Nam in its efforts to protect the health of its citizens and to promote global health security in the region and around the world.

We look forward to continuing these important discussions and to working together to take our efforts forward.

I now have the honour of introducing His Excellency, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
