ASEAN Defence Senior Officials’ Meeting Plus Working Group meeting held online

(Bqp.vn) - The ASEAN Defence Senior Officials' Meeting Plus Working Group (ADSOM-Plus WG) meeting was held online on June 11. Mr. Haji Adi Ihram Bin Dato Paduka Haji Mahmud, Deputy Permanent Secretary in charge of Policy and Strategy at the Ministry of Defence, Brunei Darussalam's ADSOM-Plus WG Leader, chaired the event. Colonel Pham Manh Thang, Deputy Director of the Foreign Relations Department under the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence, attended the meeting in Hanoi.

In his opening speech, Mr. Haji Adi Ihram Bin Dato Paduka Haji Mahmud thanked the delegates for attending the meeting, and emphasized that this continues to show the support of the countries for Brunei when it takes the ASEAN Chair 2021. He also expressed his belief that the meeting would achieve good results.

At the meeting, delegates reviewed preparations for the 8th ADMM Plus, which would be held virtually on Jun 16. Accordingly, they discussed on the agenda as well as joint statement draft of the 8th ADMM Plus.
