Abilene Regional Airport staff is excited to announce the completion of the new Aircraft Rescue & Fire Fighting Station.
The station plays an important role in providing the highest quality of air travel service through the latest technology and equipment for on-site fire and rescue operations. After 23 months of construction, this 11,000-square-foot facility represents a $4.8 million investment in Abilene air service and safety, with approximately $833,000 of 2015 bond dollars and $4 million in FAA grants.
Due to the secured location of the fire station on the Abilene Regional Airport, City dignitaries and selected attendees will celebrate the new station with a ribbon-cutting and guided tour, on Friday, September 23.
