The thirteenth event from the Innovation Day cycle took place today (24 January 2022) at ESET's headquarters in Bratislava. State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Ingrid Brocková, welcomed foreign ambassadors on the ground of one of the five largest global companies in the anti-virus software market.

"We are living in an era of digital revolution, which represents enormous potential for economic growth and technological innovation. However, the development of e-commerce and digitalisation also entails an exponential increase in cyber threats. I am proud that a Slovak company holds a prominent position among the world leaders in the quest for secure digital development," said the state secretary.

ESET, based in Bratislava, has been developing cutting-edge products for thirty years and offers cyber security services to 100 million customers on all continents. The company is the holder of all prestigious awards in the field of information technology. Alongside Bratislava, it has regional centres in San Diego, Buenos Aires and Singapore, and offices and R&D facilities in many other cities in Europe and the world.

"Many people around the world know ESET, but few know that ESET is a Slovak company. I am pleased that the company invests considerable funds to support science and research through the ESET Science Award project, supports the development of art and education of marginalised groups in Slovakia. It has a robust corporate social responsibility program, and its commitment is an example in the Slovak environment," stated he state secretary. ESET Foundation is a major supporter of arts, culture and education in Slovakia. As part of the ESET Science Award project, the company annually grants awards to figures from the academic and scientific research spheres in Slovakia.

Innovation Day is one of the instruments of economic diplomacy, an event of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, held on a monthly basis with the aim of presenting successful innovative Slovak companies to foreign ambassadors accredited to Slovakia. The event supports the internationalisation of Slovak companies and at the same time presents the innovative potential of Slovakia.
