Bradenton, Fla. - The Bradenton Marauders will embark on the 10th season in franchise history next week. Marauders players will be introduced to the fans for the first time at an event Tuesday, April 2, at 5:30 p.m. The team's home opener is Saturday, April 6 against the St. Lucie Mets, with gates opening at 5:00 p.m. and the first pitch of the season at 6:30 p.m.
Opening Night promises to be an enjoyable kickoff to a historic season. The ZOOperstars! troupe of inflatable entertainers will take the field between innings to thrill the crowd. Each of the first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a Marauders in the Majors Deck of Playing cards. After the game there will be spectacular postgame fireworks from Zambelli Fireworks and sponsored by Budweiser. Season ticket holders, 'All-You-Can-Eat' Plan A purchasers, and group ticket buyers will be invited onto the field to view the fireworks. Each Saturday game will also feature Baseball Bingo presented by PLS Print.
During the game, a used baseball equipment sale will be held inside the ballpark. Equipment used by Pirates players during Spring Training at Pirate City and LECOM Park will be available for sale. Proceeds will benefit Pirates Charities.
Marauders fans have their first chance to meet the Marauders at LECOM Park on April 2. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. and will be attended by every player and the coaching staff. A formal announcement of the roster will take place at approximately 6:45 p.m., followed by an autograph session on the field. There is no charge to enter the event. Concessions will be available for purchase.
The Marauders open the season on the road on Thursday, April 4 against the Mets. The two teams square off at First Data Field on April 4 and April 5 at 6:30 p.m., before the series shifts to LECOM Park for the weekend. Marauders season ticket holders can attend all Marauders road games for free by presenting their season ticket holder ID card.
Sunday, April 7 features the first Kids Fun Run of the season. After the game all fans 12 and younger can take part in a fun run around the bases presented by Mosaic. The game begins at 1:00 with gates opening at noon. Sunday games at LECOM Park will include 'kids concessions stands' focused on providing food options for younger fans, as well as opportunities to spin the prize wheel and win Marauders prizes.
The LECOM Park ticket office opens for the season on Tuesday, April 2. It will be open on
Tuesday-Friday non-gamedays from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. On gamedays the box office will be open on weekdays from 10:00 a.m. until the end of the game and on weekends from two hours before first pitch until the end of the game. The box office will open two hours prior to any 10:30 a.m. games.
