Keystone First Earns High NCQA Quality Rating for 2021

Keystone First, a Blue Cross Medical Assistance (Medicaid) plan and the largest Medicaid plan in southeastern Pennsylvania, earned a rating of 4.0 out of 5 in the National Committee for Quality Assurance's (NCQA's) Health Plan Ratings 2021: Medicaid.

Keystone First earned its 4.0 out of 5 rating based on strong results from the Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS®), a tool that measures performance on important dimensions of care and service, as well as the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS®) survey, which measures members' satisfaction with their overall health care experience.

The health plan retains the rating that it received in NCQA's previous Health Plan Ratings in 2019.

"In addition to working with members to complete their preventative health screenings, our team has helped underserved communities gain access to COVID vaccines," McFall said. "This ongoing public health crisis has shown us that our work to provide whole-person care to address health disparities in underserved communities is essential in helping members achieve healthy outcomes."

The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to improving health care quality. NCQA accredits and certifies a wide range of health care organizations and recognizes clinicians in key clinical areas.
