Discover your local library

The City will celebrate the many benefits libraries bring to the community during Library and Information Week. From 17-23 May, Manning and South Perth libraries will host a program of activities to encourage people of all ages to find out what their local library has to offer.

STORYTIME FROM SPACE

Popular annual event, National Simultaneous Storytime, will take place at 9am, Wednesday 19 May at each of the City's libraries. On the same day at the same time, the same picture book is read in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, family homes and bookshops across Australia. This year the story will be read by Astronaut Shannon Walker, live from the International Space Station. The chosen book, Give Me Some Space by Philip Bunting, is a delightful story about a little girl's mission to discover life in space. Find out more.

The conversation will start at 6.30pm at South Perth Library and book sales and signing will be available. Book now.
