A collection of nine action briefs on quality management across five countries have been developed by GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit). The briefs take stock of quality approaches applied at the national, district and facility level and across various technical areas to enhance quality of care. The action briefs, developed by frontline workers, focus on applied interventions, their results and what was learned from implementation experiences. This stock-take exercise took place in the context of a GIZ-WHO collaboration on health systems strengthening and health financing for Universal Health Coverage, with focused work on quality of care.

These articles address self-leadership and compassion in quality management in Cambodia; and moving beyond project mode: how can quality improvement in healthcare become an integral part of service delivery?
