2024 Music in the Park Series May and June Schedule

The Parks & Recreation Department announces the 2024 Music in the Park free concert series.

The series will begin at 6 p.m. Sunday, May 26 at the Plaza de Las Cruces, 100 N. Main St., with the Mayor's Jazz Fest. The Mayor's Jazz Fest will feature renowned jazz trumpet player Wayne Bergeron, accompanied by Las Cruces' own Border Jazz Orchestra, and Organ Mountain High School Jazz Workshop Bands 1 and 2.

The Music in the Park Series will be at 7 p.m. each Sunday from June 2 through August 25 at Young Park, 1905 E. Nevada Ave. Thursday Night Music on the Plaza concerts will begin at 7 p.m. on July 18, August 15, and August 29 at Plaza de Las Cruces.

The schedule, times, and locations are subject to change.

The Music in the Park Series is an eclectic mix of performances from local, regional, and nationally recognized artists. Featured performers for May and June include the popular variety band UnLyshed and the very talented Guitar Slim.

The Music in the Park Series highlights the great talent and diversity of Las Cruces, southern New Mexico, and New Mexico music. Each year, more than 70% of the scheduled musicians are from the Las Cruces area.

The May and June schedule is as follows:

Sunday Night Music in the Park

May 26, 2024: Mayor's Jazz Fest - Wayne Bergeron, Border Jazz Orchestra, and Organ Mountain High School Jazz Workshop Bands 1 and 2. The concert will be at Plaza de Las Cruces.

June 2, 2024: Rosewater Blues Band (Blues and Rock music); UnLyshed (Variety). The concert will be at Young Park.

June 9, 2024: Old-Time Pharmaceuticals (Folk music); Cadillac Kings (Variety). The concert will be at Young Park.

June 16, 2024: Mariachi Aguilas (Mariachi music); Hypnosis (Variety, party music). The concert will be at Young Park.

June 23, 2024: Genie & the Starliners (Oldies and Variety); Guitar Slim (Rockin' Blues). The concert will be at Young Park.

Concert schedules for July and August will be announced at a later date.
