US$ 20,000 from Staatsolie conference to Fund for Covid-19 Vaccine

On June 10, 2021, the Fund for Covid-19 Vaccine (Suriname) received a donation of US$ 20,000 from Staatsolie Maatschappij Suriname N.V. and Global Event Partners (GEP). The amount comes from the proceeds of the Suriname Energy, Oil and Gas Summit (SEOGS) 2021, which was held from 1-3 June 2021.

Staatsolie, host of SEOGS 2021, and organizer GEP had agreed upon entering into their partnership that a set percentage of the proceeds from sponsorship and registration fees would be donated to a social cause. Given the worrying Covid-19 situation in Suriname, Staatsolie and GEP have decided to make a US$ 20,000 donation to the Covid-19 Vaccine Fund. The companies that have made significant contributions through SEOGS sponsorship are Shell, Cairn, Kenswil & Co, Baitali Group, Consolidated Resources Suriname and Shyamnarain Associates. Staatsolie and GEP thank all sponsors and participants of SEOGS 2021, who helped make the donation to the Fund for Covid-19 vaccine possible.

At the three-day virtual Suriname Energy, Oil and Gas Summit 2021, the investment opportunities in Suriname, following the offshore oil and gas discoveries, were highlighted. SEOGS 2021 has been the first thematic international conference on the developments in the offshore oil industry in Suriname. The event was themed 'Suriname open for business'. About five hundred participants and more than 150 companies participated in SEOGS 2021.
