Representatives of Political Parties Shared Opinions on Parliamentary Election in Russia

Today, in Moscow the IPA CIS international observers headed by Team Coordinator, Deputy Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan AskarShakirov held meetings with representatives of political parties, nominated candidates to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly.

During the meeting with the observers "Just Russia - Patriots - For Truth" Party Leader SergeiMironov told that the party trained 120,000 observers to work at polling stations. The vast majority of the identified violations was technical in nature and eliminated due to a mobile application developed by the party.

First Deputy Chair of the Central Committee of the "Communist Party of the Russian Federation" YuryAfonin spoke about the formation of the party list, noting that the party candidates were running for 223 out of 225 constituencies.

The "United Russia" party was represented by member of the Presidium of the General Council of the Party, member of the Bureau of the Supreme Council of the Party SergeiNeverov. He thanked the parliaments of the CIS Member Nations that delegated MPs and senators to observe the elections to the State Duma and assessed the project of remote e-voting, which was being implemented for the first time on a large scale in the parliamentary elections in Russia.

The specifics of the current electoral campaign under anti-epidemiological restrictions were also discussed at a meeting with the leadership of the "Liberal Democratic Party of Russia". The party representatives LeonidSlutsky and YaroslavNilov shared their impressions of the current election campaign, stressing that the party took into account the shortcomings of the election process based on the experience of past campaigns and sent proposals to the CEC.

The Team Coordinator spoke about the long-term monitoring carried out by the IPA CIS IIMDD and the observers' plans for the coming days.
