Trails Center hosts Native American History Weekend

CASPER, Wyo. - Visit the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center this Saturday and Sunday for an entire weekend devoted to Native American history.

Presentations and demonstrations focusing on basic survival skills, stone tool making, and atlatls will take place on July 30 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and July 31 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the grounds outside the Trails Center.

The Trails Center also welcomes back special guests Cleve Bell and Willie LeClair to share their knowledge of Native American culture. LeClair, an enrolled member of the Eastern Shoshone Tribe, educates his audience on historic and modern indigenous ways of life through song, narration, and dance. Bell is a local Wyoming artist and retired art teacher from the Wyoming Indian High School in Ethete, Wyoming.
