Great American Defense Community Flag Presented to the Antelope Valley

PALMDALE- On Saturday, June 25 at 6:30 pm the Association ofDefense Communities (ADC) will officially present the Antelope Valley with the Great American Defense Community Award Flag just prior tothe performance by the 562nd Air Force Band Concert at the PalmdaleAmphitheater. ADC Board Member Keith Kalehan and USAA representative Rory Wicks will present the flag tothe City, Edward's Air Force Base and Air Force Plant 42 representatives.

The Antelope Valley was named one ofthe 2022 Great American Defense Communities, as awarded by the ADC in conjunction with USAA, the program's official sponsor at the Defense Communities National Summit in March. The CityofPalmdaleapplied for the award on behalf ofthe region and highlighted the wealth ofresources available, both on and off base, that support veterans, military service members, and their families in the Antelope Valley. This includes workforce training, housing opportunities, health and wellness, special events and programs, and dozens oforganizations working tosupport the local military community.
