Khon Kaen Governor and Deputy Director-General of the Department of Information, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, co-chaired the opening ceremony of APEC 2022[...]

On 22 June 2022, Mr. Somsak Jangtrakul, Governor of Khon Kaen Province, and Mr. Natapanu Nopakun, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Information and Deputy Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, jointly kicked off the APEC 2022 Exhibition at Central Plaza Khon Kaen. Representatives from government and private agencies, including the local media, and the general public attended the event.

The exhibition showcases the role of Thailand as APEC 2022 Host under the theme "Open. Connect. Balance.", and Khon Kaen's city innovation on infrastructure. The province has been positioned as a pilot Smart City to promote connectivity and tourism, trade and investment, which are crucial to reviving and restoring the regional economy. Visitors to the Exhibition will be able to buy quality products from Khon Kaen's selected businesses and local enterprises as well as APEC 2022 commemorative stamps at the Exhibition.
