Georges River Land Trust will host All The Buzz, their second annual summer gala, at the waterfront home of Barbara and Walter Reitz in South Thomaston on Thursday, July 25, at 6 pm. This year's event will feature live music, signature cocktails, and silent and live auctions of fine art, jewelry, trips and accommodations, and authentic experiences, including guided hikes and island camping.
All The Buzz is sponsored by First National Bank and First National Wealth Management. Tickets to the benefit, which will be catered by Green Bean Catering, are $100 per person, $75 for land trust members, and are available at http://www.georgesriver.org/event/all-the-buzz/ or by phone at 594-5166.
Thirteen distinguished mid-coast Maine artists will be included in the benefit, with pieces representative of some of their most notable works. They are Andrew Wyeth, Nicholas Snow, Anna B. McCoy, Eric Hopkins, Peter Ralston, Jim Dugan, Loretta Krupinski, Jim Nyce, Stephen Porter, Chuck Paine, Douglas Smith, Greg Mort, and Ann Wyeth McCoy.
Offerings in the authentic experiences category include a guided hike and lunch with renowned Maine guide and Triple Crown Hiker Tom Jamrog (Appalachian Trail - Pacific Crest Trail - Continental Divide Trail); hosted camping on Crawford Pond's secluded 100 Acre Island; and a 3-night stay for a crowd (up to 11) at a Saddleback condo where the whole family can enjoy hiking, fishing, and ideal autumn color, among many others.
Golf packages, a Monhegan trip including overnight at the Island Inn, unique jewelry by Michael Good, Cape Air tickets, and gift certificates to everybody's favorite shops and restaurants round out the offerings. Thomaston Place Galleries auctioneer John Bottero will host the live auction portion of the evening.
Music will be provided by violinist Abigail Nash in the garden as guests enjoy a refreshing aperitif and preview the live auction items. On the south lawn looking out at the water guests will be entertained by 3-piece combo The Extension Chords, as they gather under the big tent to enjoy Green Bean Catering's always popular appetizers and small plate selections. Both musical offerings hail from Midcoast Music Academy in Rockland.
Tickets to the benefit are $100 per person, $75 for land trust members, and are available online at http://www.georgesriver.org/event/all-the-buzz/ or by phone at 594-5166. All proceeds benefit the land trust's conservation, education, youth programming, and climate change initiatives.
All The Buzz will take place rain or shine - under the big tent - so please dress for Maine weather. Come prepared to be wined and dined and entertained. And don't forget to bring your checkbook in case you're one of the lucky ones who succeed in snagging a real steal in the fundraising auction part of the evening.
