Azure VMware Solution Attached Services Earn VMware a Microsoft Partner of the Year Finalist Award

We're very pleased to announce that VMware has been named a finalist for the 2022 Microsoft Partner of the Year Award in the Migration to Azure category. VMware was chosen from more than 3,900 nominations submitted by a global field of top Microsoft partners for demonstrating excellence in innovative customer solutions based on our attached services that extend and enhance Azure VMware Solution.

Azure VMware Solution is a Microsoft Azure service jointly built with VMware that provides VMware software-defined data centers consisting of vSphere compute, vSAN storage, and NSX networking provisioned on bare-metal running in Azure regions worldwide. VMware has partnered closely with Microsoft to augment Azure VMware Solution with a rich set of VMware attached multi-cloud services. Drawn from our vRealize, Horizon, Tanzu, NSX, and Site Recovery Manager product families, those attached services have been certified with Azure VMware Solution to further increase its value to customers. We are proud that Microsoft has specifically recognized that value with this Partner of the Year finalist designation.

VMware attached services enable customer success with Azure VMware Solution

Azure VMware Solution customers such as Carhartt, University of Miami, and Metro South Health have all managed successful Azure migrations with the help of VMware attached services. VMware HCX is a critical Azure VMware Solution component that simplifies app migrations and extends on-premises networks to Azure VMware Solution to enable hybrid clouds. VMware Horizon on Azure VMware Solution lets customers extend their Horizon VDI infrastructure to Azure while maintaining consistency of management and user experience. The VMware vRealize and vRealize Cloud hybrid and multi-cloud management solutions are certified with Azure VMware Solution so customers can manage and monitor their VMware infrastructure and workloads in Azure with the same tools they already use on-premises. Customers are providing disaster recovery protection using VMware Site Recovery Manager to make Azure VMware Solution their DR site for on-premises workloads, or those that have already migrated to Azure are using Site Recovery Manager to protect critical apps with replication to Azure VMware Solution cloud environments in other Azure regions.

"Our goal with Azure VMware Solution has been to offer customers a rich and fully consistent VMware environment in the Azure cloud," said Sue Hartford, Director of Product Marketing at Microsoft. "In partnership with VMware, we've created an experience offering functional and operational parity with their familiar on-premises VMware environments while gaining access to the rich set of cloud innovation available from both Microsoft and VMware."
